A study on assigning performance shaping factors of the SPAR-H method for adequacy human reliability analysis of nuclear power plants

The performance shaping factors (PSFs) of the standardized plant analysis risk-human reliability (SPAR-H) method are unclearly defined, which contributes to uncertainty human (HRA) in nuclear power plants (NPPs). This work proposes an expert-based modification approach for redefining PSFs based on four criteria terms less overlap, hierarchy, flexibility, and digitalization. For demonstration, proposed is used assign three specific failure events NPPs. Three tests (Kendall's W Test, Jonckheere-Terpstra Paired Samples Test) applied analyze assignments. Compared PSF assignment SPAR-H, results show that redefined meet reduce overestimation error probabilities (HEPs).
